BWV810: Conferencing

This sesion will focus on how Bach conceieved of and developed the Art of the Fugue and the degree to which Mozart (and even Beethoven) employed the contrapuntal technique Bach pioneered.

This will be the second half of the aforementioned session, in which we will focus on the various ways in which Mozart inverted some of bach's phrasing from the 17th fugue in book 2 of the WTC and placed same in bar 216 of the 1st movement of his 21st piano concerto.

We will explore issues such as harmony, structure, tonal integrity, three versus four voice fugues, and hidden lines in Mozart's 21st piano concerto, especially the 3rd movement, bars 156 through 196.
